We are great at killing our own dreams. Either we see ourselves as selfless for putting off our dreams or we avoid our dreams by criticizing everything and seeing it as “discernment.”

We operate out of fear and go to great lengths to avoid disappoint. Even to the point that we extinguish the flame of possibility before anyone else has the opportunity to blow it out. It feels safer that way. What if we discover things we really want and can’t have them? What would we do then?

Kill the dreaming, hoping, and longing. Douse the flame before you get burned.

We are afraid of pain.
