Widow Paris – Day 27
Marie Laveau, who is known at the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans was married at 18 to Jacques Paris. He died of mysterious circumstances and by the time she was in her 20’s she was known as Widow Paris. This name is also etched on her grave which has become a popular tourist attraction. Many condemned her as a witch while others praised her as a saint. She died on June 15, 1881 and is buried in St. Louis Cemetery.
