Sketchbook Project 2018- Bethany

I am working on the sketchbook project for 2018. It is a small little sketchbook that will be in The Brooklyn Art Library.

The theme I picked is “no worries”. I believe no matter where you live in the world we all have worries but if we put our faith in Jesus Christ we are saved by grace. We can give our worries to him and have joy and peace inside no matter what troubles are in the world.

I am painting global women from all around the world who are determined to live a life filled with joy and peace in their hearts or you could call it no worries.

These are not perfect women, they are just ordinary women living with their faith in God who has granted them the grace of salvation.

Hope you will enjoy seeing these women. Meet Bethany.

Sandpiper on Beach

Yesterday while sitting out on the beach I painted this cute little sandpiper!

Mom NO MOM???

My mom died a few days after I was born so I have never had that mom I could go to and ask questions and share all my thoughts with. I have been blessed to be the mom of a wonderful daughter and 2 great daughter-in-laws. All three of these special ladies are moms today! I want to wish them and all moms a very Happy Mother’s Day!

I just finsihed a this colored pencil drawing on mylar and decided to turn it into a Mother’s Day card. Hope you enjoy!

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed, her husband also, and praises her. Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD to be praised. Psalm 31:25-30

Does this look like a Irish girl to you?

Well I am not sure if she looks Irish or not but I thought the Ishish name Sorcha which means ” bright and shining” fits her perfectly.

I love everything to do with fashion! I love all the fashion magazines and checking out what is trendy and in style. I love shooting fashion photography and I am endeavoring into drawing fashion illustrations. Here is one of my attempts. I used a photo from a recent photo shoot for my inspiration.
