Grace

Grace, n underserved, unmerited, unearned, favor.

I am a Christian, I’m not perfect, I mess up, but God’s Grace is bigger than my sins.

A thousand times I have failed and still your mercy remains, and if I stumble again I’m caught in your Grace.

Every weakness you have is an opportunity for God to show his strength in your life.

My Grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:9

Cry and the Lord hears

i am usually a very happy person. My sister has told me before that I go around wearing rose colored glasses. I just prefer seeing the glass half full.

But every now and then we have a bad day. Yesterday was my day! Sometimes the world just catches up with you and you need a good cry.

I went to my “Bible Journaling through Art” class last night and guess what words were in ” The Word to Live by” for this week that we are working on? I highlighted which ones stood out to me in my art . It is a WIP (work in Progress) but I wanted you to see it.

“The righteous cry and the Lord hearth. My words are life. I always hear your cry. To hear me speak is to find Life, and healing and strength.”

God so knew what I needed to hear last night. He is always there for you when you need him. Just open up your heart and let him in. Times will still be hard but you will experience peace and joy through it all because of him.

Then this Morning as I am reading my daily devotional in “Jesus Always” here are the wonderful words Jesus had for me and you.

” My love chases after you every day of you life. So look for signs of my tender presence as you go through this day. I disclose myself to you in a vast variety of ways – words of Scripture just when you need them, helpful words spoken through other people, “coincidences” orchestrated by My Spirit, natures beauty, and so on.

Widow Paris – Day 27

Marie Laveau, who is known at the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans was married at 18 to Jacques Paris. He died of mysterious circumstances and by the time she was in her 20’s she was known as Widow Paris. This name is also etched on her grave which has become a popular tourist attraction. Many condemned her as a witch while others praised her as a saint. She died on June 15, 1881 and is buried in St. Louis Cemetery.creole-lady

July is FIG Time!

I am taking a colored pencil class and we are drawing  a fig leaf. This project took a few days, as I spent a few hours each time, working on the project. i started off with a new velvety leaf and by the time I got to the end my fig leaf was dry and crumbled up. Therefore my colored pencil fig leaf evolved through the days just like the real leaf.

This fig leaf reminds me of our lives with Christ. We can either be velvety fresh and green and always ready to learn new things through his word or we can become dried up and crumble if we let the enemy in our life and walk away from his word.

Spend time each day in his word and refresh yourself with his life flowing water (word).

Even though I don’t like eating figs I did enjoy drawing this leaf!
