I had the pleasure of going here last week. Uncle Sandy( whose real name is Carl Kirkconnell) founded the park in 1998. Uncle Sandy wanted a place where people could come and enjoy the birds. There is an open flight area where you can feed the birds and they will come up to you and take the peanuts out of your hand to eat. When our grand kids come to visit they love going feed the macaws.
We found out last week that Uncle Sandy has cancer and only has a week or so left to live. This has been shocking news and tough to take in. Please keep Uncle Sandy (Carl) in your prayers.
My husband, David, donates wood, steel, and what ever else he can to help maintain the park. They can use these things to build cages and perches. Some of the birds that live at the park were either abandoned or previously abused. Our goffin cockatoo (Luna) was one of the abused birds. When they received her in the park she had hardly any feathers. We feel in love with her, took her home with us and now she is one spoiled and loved bird. As a result of David’s many visits to the park, he and Uncle sandy have become good friends.

The birds were such a great sports for the camera. I think they enjoyed posing as much as I enjoyed capturing their beauty.
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But you do have to admit this is one beauty!
Fly away with me!! We would have so much fun!
What did u say? You wish you had a crown like me. Isn’t it pretty!
Hey I can’t help it if my eyes are RED. The party lasted all night!
I’m the Voodoo King of New Orleans!
I bet I can stare at you longer than you can at me!
This is my Sweet and Innocent pose. You Like it?
And last but not least, into the Abyss we go!
